Information on demand

t-impact - information om demandThere are two assets that really matter to companies today. People - the HR element - and information. Both are often 'intangible' assets, but any company that drastically loses either or both will soon realise how important they are.

Today we often treat information as only what we have stored in our computer systems. Perhaps also we consider email and voice communications as a valuable asset, but information management is rarely a top priority.

Have you noticed how well processes run, until someone some where needs some information? This could include such things as authorisation requests, where a document will sit in an in-tray for days, weeks or even months.

Information mangement in BPM is very much part of the power of the approach. By describing business processes at a very high level, all information flows can be captured, and then optimised. The process automation can include interaction with mobile communication, SMS text messages, email and workflow with web pages. For example, that HR request for a new laptop for a new starter - previously just an information email send from someone in HR to someone they know in IT, can become a workflow linking IT and authorisation by email. If the authorising manager does not respond to the email, HR can have a timeout report and take overidring action, and if the authorisation is that important, the automated process can send a text, encouraging response in a matter of minutes or hours.

Take control of your business by taking control of your information flow and opening information to everyone who needs it.
