Process visibility during a 2-year technology refresh.
The need for Catalent to improve the visibility of key ERP Processes is driving the use of process modelling, with a view to implementing standardised processes across multiple countries. Along with re-versioning some of their larger IT systems, Catalent also want to achieve an improved level of process understanding and business intelligence. Having undertaken thorough due diligence on standalone modelling tools, IBM Blueworks Live has been selected as the technology to drive both short and longer-term objectives.

Catalent Pharma Solutions are taking the first steps towards globally harmonized business process management and needed a solution that was richer in functionality than Microsoft’s Visio solution. After a thorough search they chose IBM’s Blueworks Live solution and reached out to T-Impact to guide them through the purchase and initial training and deployment.
T-Impact provided a series of Process Enablement workshops, delivered by a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with the required mix of skills and experience to support Catalent’s vision Process Excellence deployment.
By using IBM Blueworks Live in conjunction with web conference tools such as WebEx and Skype, Catalent are now able to agree process models collaboratively on an international scale, eliminating the need for expensive travel and wasted time. Previously change teams were flown to the United States for workshops to discuss process documentation and strategy.
Additionally, Blueworks Live allows Catalent’s change teams to plan changes to IT systems in a very logical and process-oriented format, collaborating with business teams to reach process requirement consensus. This is promoting a more agile approach, reducing the time required to design, configure and test solutions without lengthy rework due to misunderstanding of requirements.
